Cristina Hernando Davalillo

Bachelor's degree in Biology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona where I completed my thesis on "The characterisation of chromosomal anomalies in prenatal and postnatal diagnosis through molecular cytogenetics", which led to my PhD. I have been performing genetic diagnoses using conventional cytogenetic techniques and FISH for more than 12 years. In 2010 I started working at qGenomics, one of the world's first and foremost companies in the development of products and clinical application of services derived from genomic research. There I helped to develop various types of DNA chips and for 7 years I headed the Microrays Department, providing molecular genetics services in a hospital setting. Currently, I am an attending in the Molecular Cytogenetic Laboratory at SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital. My goal is to keep building on my knowledge in Genomics and Clinical Genetics to apply to the individual genetic and/or genomic study of the clinical cases presented.

I regularly participate in genetic counselling conferences and seminars organised by the Spanish Society of Genetic Counselling (Sociedad Española de Asesoramiento Genético - SEAGen).

• Investigator on the project "Desarrollo de soluciones genómicas innovadoras para la salud humana" (Development of innovative genomic solutions for human health), Quantitative Genomic Medicine Laboratories,  2010 - 2012.
• Investigator on the project "Identificación de regiones cromosómicas responsables de malformaciones congénitas mediante técnicas de citogenética molecular" (Identification of chromosomal regions responsible for congenital malformations through molecular cytogenetics techniques).
