SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, with tax identification number (NIF) R5800645C, is legally a religious entity that enjoys its own legal/civil personality and is registered in the Spanish Ministry of Justice Registry of Religious Entities with the number 006839.
As a charitable/social religious institution, it is a non-profit entity included in Section 1 of the ninth additional provision of Law 49/2002, of 23 December, on the system of taxation of non-profit entities and of tax incentives for sponsorship.
Below we detail the regulations that govern the actions of the center in terms of the prevention of criminal risks and the rights of patients.
Penal Risk Prevention
The Whistleblowing Channel is a communication instrument set up by the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God - Province of Spain within the framework of its Compliance Management System, to inform the institution of possible irregular or unlawful conduct within the institution, guaranteeing the confidentiality of the person making the complaint who so requests.
These reports of irregular or illegal behaviour will refer to possible infractions or violations of the Code of Ethics or Conduct, the organisation's internal rules and/or legal regulations. The complaints channel is managed by the external firm Maio Legal, which is responsible for processing the personal data provided, together with the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God - Province of Spain, for the purpose of managing the information provided and carrying out the relevant investigation of the facts reported.

We strongly condemn all forms of child abuse, both inside and outside our organisation, and we always respond within our sphere of influence to all cases of abuse according to their nature, whether proven, suspected or attempted.
Our efforts ensure that mechanisms are in place to raise awareness, implement preventive assistance, encourage the value of reporting and respond carefully. These mechanisms range from human resource development measures, such as training and counselling, to suspension, dismissal and legal action.
