In 2010, Miquelrius contacted SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital to find a solution to the growing concern for back pain in children and adolescents due to, among other factors, the excess weight and improper use of backpacks.
The vast majority of children wear backpacks to go to school. These backpacks are often loaded with books, breakfast, clothing and other materials to the point that they exceed the weight recommended by physicians (up to 10% / 15% of the body weight of the person transporting it). It is estimated that 10% of children under 10 years of age and more than 50% of adolescents have back pain.
Miquelrius, in collaboration with professionals from SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, developed an ergonomic backpack designed to conform to the anatomy of a child and reduce the impact of the weight loaded. This backpack is available in designs by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Kukuxumusu, Jordi Labanda and Bultaco.
