To compile this ranking, Newsweek surveys 12 specialties: cardiology, cardiac surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, paediatrics, pulmonology, obstetrics and gynaecology, oncology, orthopaedics and urology.
As a first-rate paediatric hospital, the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital has been recognised by this ranking since 2022 as one of the best paediatric hospitals internationally.
