My training as a neuropsychologist enables me to support families and patients diagnosed with rare genetic diseases that predisposes them to cancer (neurofibromatosis type 1) when a disease is diagnosed early, and to advise them on the resources to which they can access depending on the stage of progression a patient has reached. I liaise between the medical team and families by arranging the follow-up of a disease by the school and other external healthcare professionals.
At the Unit, we endeavour to pursue research and to select resources that bring all of the teams involved with a patient and the medical procedures that affect them together.
