INTERACT-EUROPE 100Cancer treatment involves the collaboration of many specialists and professionals: oncology, radiology, surgery, oncology nursing, among others. Given the complexity of cancer treatments and cancer patient pathways, teamwork is essential and requires a clear understanding of each other's roles and competencies.
The project
INTERACT-EUROPE 100 is a project coordinated by the European Cancer Organisation (ECO) and co-funded by the European Union as part of the European Plan to Fight Cancer, which aims to advance cancer care by improving multidisciplinary stakeholder collaboration. Building on the work of the INTERACT-EUROPE project, which developed an Interspecialty Cancer Training (ISCT) curriculum, INTERACT-EUROPE 100 aims to roll out this training programme to 100 cancer centres across Europe.
SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital is one of the members of the consortium and is involved in three work packages:
- Programme design and development.
- Teaching.
- Recruitment and communication.
Sant Joan de Déu professionals will offer their experience and knowledge in paediatric oncology in the training programme.
