The Pain Unit offers specialised care to pediatric patients with acute or chronic pain. Patient pain is approached from a bio-psychosocial model, with the aim of treating the pain and improving functionality and quality of life.

Research
The Pain Unit is committed to innovation and research in order to expand knowledge and use of new pain management therapies (neuromodulation, neurostimulation, electrofrequencies). With this goal in mind, the Pain Unit collaborates on two research projects:
- Effectiveness and implementation of a digital intervention for chronic pediatric pain, co-designed with patients (Digital SPA). Principal Investigator: Rosada de la Vega. University of Malaga.
- Safety and effectiveness of direct transcranial direct current stimulation (TDCS) in pediatric patients with neuropsychiatric diseases. Principal Investigator: Dr Alejandra Climent.
