Atopy

We treat the most severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) and offer innovative treatments to improve the quality of life of our patients and their families. We have a therapeutic education programme for parents and patients.

Atopic dermatitis or eczema affects 10% of children. In the Paediatric Dermatology Department at SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, we treat more severe cases of atopic dermatitis with the aim of improving the quality of life of our patients and their families.

We work together with the Hospital's Allergy and Clinical Immunology Department to rule out whether there is an allergy triggering the outbreaks, and cases of immunodeficiency.

We offer the most innovative treatments for atopy and we take part in clinical research studies and in all trials with new biological treatments targeted at specific atopic conditions.

We have a therapeutic education programme for parents and patients, called the School of Atopy, which empowers patients so that they can better control their disease.

At SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, we are able to admit patients if necessary.
