Laura Saura García

I graduated with a degree in Medicine from the University of Barcelona in 2000. I specialised in Pediatric surgery through an MIR at the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital from 2002 until 2007. Since then, I have been working in the Pediatric Surgery Department as a Faculty Specialist, a level C healthcare professional. Since 2011, I have worked as an international examiner on the European Board of Paediatric Surgery. My main area of interest is minimally invasive surgery for thoracic and gastro pathologies.

• Member of the research group on Fetal or early years origins of adult disease, SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital.
• Lines of research: Pre- and post-natal research into surgically-treatable congenital malformations. A basic, clinical and experimental study.
• Member of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Surgery.
• Member of the European Paediatric Surgical Association.
