The award was given in the “High-technology Hospitals” category, “Best mother-and-child hospitals” division
The aim of these awards is to promote clinical management aimed at continuous improvement in Spanish public and private hospitals.
Ricard Casadevall, Head of the Care Management Support Unit at SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital, said that “our Hospital has been awarded the best centre in the mother-and-child category of maximum-complexity hospitals, based on an assessment of quality-of-care, safety, adequacy and efficiency indicators in the areas of maternity, neonatology and paediatric processes between the ages of 0 and 14 years”.
The initiative recognises the work of the participating healthcare centres based on several key indicators on prevalent processes in Spanish hospitals.
About the Best Spanish Hospitals Awards
This was the fourth year of the Best Spanish Hospitals Awards (BSH), organised by Higia Benchmarketing and ASHO, in collaboration with the Sociedad Española de Directivos de la Salud (SEDISA) (Spanish society of healthcare managers).
The Best Spanish Hospitals Awards® (BSH) have honoured the three best-performing hospitals in each hospital group, within each of the grouped clinical areas: medical, surgical and mother-and-child. Taking into account the two optional areas of hospital emergencies and hospital costs, a total of five Benchmark BSH awards were given.
