On Monday, 8 July, the Ohmatdytla National Specialised Children's Hospital, the main paediatric hospital in Kyiv, was the victim of a missile attack.
The European Children's Hospitals Organisation (ECHO), the organisation to which the hospital attacked belongs, chaired by Dr Manel de Castillo, managing director of the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital, has issued a statement condemning the attack on the paediatric hospital and expressing its dismay at the attack and its solidarity with those affected.
In the text, ECHO unequivocally condemns these acts of violence which endanger the lives of paediatric patients, their families, and the healthcare professionals who care for them, and calls on the international community to protect health facilities in zones of conflict.
Finally, the ECHO network offers its support so that sick children in the country can continue to receive the necessary medical care.
