Myroom, a program for companies committed to the emotional health of hospitalised children
SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital launches a new program to involve companies in humanisation activities.
Every year, the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital admits an average of 23,000 patients. One of the centre's major concerns is to make the hospitalisation experience as humanised as possible. For this reason, since the implementation of the Hospital Amic program in 2004, donations have allowed us to finance activities such as music, art, dog-assisted interventions, or hospital clowns, among many others. All with the aim of ensuring that young patients don't experience their admission as a traumatic event and are distracted for as long as possible.
Aware that many companies are concerned about the health of the most vulnerable children, as well as active in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, Sant Joan de Déu has launched the Myroom program, with the aim of offering them the opportunity to promote entertainment activities in one of the centre's rooms for an entire year. Through a donation of 5,000 euros, deductible from Corporate Tax according to the Patronage Law 49/2002, companies can make the activities financed by the Hospital a reality within the room reserved for the company, where their logo will also be present for 365 days.
In addition to the logo presence in the room, Myroom includes a series of other benefits, such as the sending of a collaborator seal to be used in the company's communications to clients and collaborators, mention on social networks and in the annual solidarity report of the SJD Hospital, or the possibility of corporate volunteering in an online format with young patients.
The SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital has an agreement with the public health system to provide assistance without exclusiions, but thanks to donations, it carries out a large number of projects that would otherwise be unfeasible, such as paediatric disease research, construction or renovation of new spaces, aid programs for families with fewer resources, acquisition of cutting-edge equipment, or the aforementioned humanisation activities, among many others.
